Dr. Magdy Yacoub is an Egyptian cardiologist, he was born on 16th November 1935 in Belbes city. He was graduated from the faculty of medicine at Cairo University in 1957. In 1962 he joined national heat and chest hospitals that exist in London as senior surgical registrar.
Then he moved in 1968 to the United States of America and worked as an assistant professor at Chicago University. Dr. Magdy returned to London again in 1969, he worked as a heart surgeon in Harfield hospital from 1969 to 2001. In 1973 he became a consultant surgeon in Harefield hospital and became a visitor professor at Nigeria university.
In 1986 he became a cardiothoracic surgery professor at the national heart & lung institute in Imperial collage. The hearts king came back to his country and established the Aswan center for heart surgeries in 2009, he is observing and teaching young heart surgeons to continue his great work. In Aswan center, his great team operating surgeries to save kids’ lives every day under his supervision.
1- He developed a procedure to treat babies suffering from congenital heart diseases.
2- Dr. Magdey pioneered techniques in heart treatment surgeries which include: wireless heart sensors, devices that assist left ventricle and tissue engineering heart valves.
3- He published more than 1000 articles.
4- He was a supervisor on more than 18 PHDs.
5- He established many research centers for searches and surgeries in many countries all over there world like Egypt, the United Kingdom, and the Gulf area.

7- Gold medal from the European society of cardiology in 2006.
8- Bergamo honorary citizenship in 2007.
9- The Oder of Nile in 2011.
10 – Order of Merit by England queen Elizabeth in 2014.
